mitzi are a 4 piece of awesomeness made up of dominiqe bird, jad lee, charlie murdoch and cale suesskow. they all hail from australias most laidback and sunny city brisbane. some people call it brisvegas because its sexy too. after playing in various killer bands such as bmx (2009 unearthed parklife winners), comic sans (2010 unearthed st jeromes laneway festival winners), charlie why! (recent bang gang 12 inches signing) and the gallery kiss all the dudes have united to create some genuinely exciting australian music. the three tunes on >all i heard< fuse the sounds of garage disco, nyc indie and the light heartedness of australian pop. jono ma (lost valentinos, tracy thorn, teenagers in tokyo) mixed the record at ewan pearsons studio in berlin and made all those trumpets, snares, keys, whispers and vocals sound ridiculously tight. future classics history has always been rooted in bands and were pretty stocked to be getting back into it. plus its our 50th release!

a spiral of evolving and heady, sample-laden tracks unfurl on paco osunas latest ep, a richly produced melding of continent-spanning talent, with paco partnering up in the studio with real-life amigos daniel sanchez, alex under, joseph capriati and alexi delano. the amigos ep presents driven, moving grooves with satiating build ups, over densely-layered samples and drums. osunas seasoned skill-sets in the dj booth and as a producer come together knowingly in this release. osuna and his dutch/spanish counterpart daniel sanchez combine melodic and percussive samples in kawuriel, whilst with madrids alex under as his cohort, osuna transfixes with waaaa - featuring a distinctive pitch shifting sound throughout its phasing. your understanding of its unusual name will become abundantly clear upon the first listen. also notable is wope, which contains woodblock-esque percussion samples that compliment the rolling bass, co-produced with italian musician joseph capriati. the eps finale, waxfix, is a combination of the talents of osuna and swedens alexi delano, resulting in another cleverly-derived arrangement of steady bass drums and strong high hats. its a well-locked and smoothly syncopated, loop-based groove

prompt has been producing electronic music since the mid 90s and during this time has made a string of outstanding eps, some of which have even won awards. but who exactly is this man from madrid: prompt? to stand on a stage and party for hours in his own world is not prompts style. he would rather sit in the background of his studio and create unforgettable and ever more fascinating tunes. his debut ep on highgrade set the tone for his convincing mix of sound design and subtle hooks. these are also the most important elements for his new highgrade release. in >sharing sounds< its all about deepness. expressed through dense loopy forests and deep broken valleys. you have to engage in the sound experience and see the world prompt has built for you. few other techno producers have such a distinctive style or unique voice. with this ep you could be blindfolded on the dance floor and you would still recognize the music. the sound will convince you once again, both in the club and on the turntables at home.

marco resmann has done it. the studio computer is purring again like a satisfied kitten and those dark technical storm clouds have passed by. to prove that a streak of technical bad luck which he has just gone through can sometimes enhance creativity he has come up with this little gem of a new single >drop outz<. on a1 we have >mal pas< (transl: difficult road) which is an ode to the suffering he went through with his computer. but dont worry, its just a name, the track itself is as light and sweet as the stuff that we love from marco. b1 is also little beauty, no dark clouds to be found here either, and b2, a cracker called >whats cracking< is the ultimate proof to anyone that the sun always shines at upon you. enjoy and always think happy thoughts friends

the third instalment of the bitches brew limited 10-inch series is the darkstarr remix and darkstarr dub of >dont do it< by salvador santana. the 10-inch is designed and hand-printed by artist james morrison so that each record is unique. salvador santana is a hip hop / soul singer / songwriter / keyboardist and is also the son of carlos santana. his debut album >keyboard city< saw contributions from bay area legends such as del the funky homosapien, gza of wu-tang clan and beastie boy studio wizard money mark who also co-wrote >dont do it<. the darkstarr production duo of ashley beedle and cosmo were asked to do a remix and bitches brew has released the results on vinyl on this special 10-inch series. their darkstarr mixes have received big support from musical selectors as diverse as the lofts david mancuso all the way to shit robot.

earlier this year they got together at martins studio in derby to create this classic deep house number. the parts were then taken to their respective studios to create their own versions. freds mix has a more straight forward vibe to it while martin takes things to the deep end, adding dub elements to the mix.

as someone that wears many hats, including dj, labelowner, producer and radio presenter, anja schneider has certainly been juggling them all very successfully this year. currently on a busy touring schedule in south america celebrating five years of mobilee records, before leaving for the road she also put aside some time to get back in the studio and produce a brand new ep, mobilee072 pushin. whilst she worked on her most recent productions such as ithought and something left with kiki, and also shinkansen with lee van dowski, this time she partnered once again with paul brtschitsch, with whom she co-produced her debut lp beyond the valley in 2008. famed for playing dj-sets that always come with a powerful bass and sexy groove, pushin is the perfect production equivalent of anja schneiders club performance. the title track comes with a soulful vocal, whilst a2 >strong way< is intended as a female interpretation of the same track. meanwhile, b1 >i dont feel anything< takes you on an eery ride with whispered utterances. enjoy!

jim rivers is a dj and producer that needs very little introduction and he makes his dieb audio debut with a powerful, old school tinged production entitled >junk<. jim has displayed a huge range in style and scope in his studio work this is evident in the bulk and variety of his discography. his recent foray into classical, dancefloor friendly techno has yielded impressive results and garnered widespread recognition and praise. >junk< is a prime example of this direction.

born in romania in 1981, mihai popoviciu is one of the most talked about newcomers in the house and techno scene. but to call him a newcomer is a misnomer. mihai has been releasing quality music for years, on labels such as gigolo, level non zero, brise, diynamic and, of course, highgrade. since 2007 he has sworn allegiance to the highgrade flag, either alone or with production partner markus homm. he always has the ability to surprise with his music tracks produced straight to the point with no unnecessary fluff – just the uninhibited thrill and euphoria of dancing seems to empower his work. after a busy summer season playing in the clubs of europe, he is now back to work in the studio. and so comes >trapped in brakets< with three brilliant club tracks of outstanding quality, custom made for the dance floor. if you dont believe us youll have to hear them for yourself. turn up the volume and close your eyes! for those who still want more, mihai popoviciu will be releasing his debut album in may 2011 on highgrade records. time to get excited and warm up the legs for maximum dance floor effect!

after five years of experimenting with a string of different singers, chromatics introduced ruth radelet as the lead actress to star in their films in 2005. forever standing out from the crowd, chromatics imagined the soft rock focus of hall & oates stretched over a fleetwood mac beat. trading the dancefloor for gorgeous chords & melancholic strings. they lived where it was always late & neon lights glimmered across the wet streets. this record archives studio work between 2004 & 2006 leading up to the now infamous >night drive< album.

the green door studio opened its (confusingly black) doors to glasgows vibrant music community at the end of 2007. set up by three glasgow-based musicians emily maclaren (michael dracula/the lady vanishes), sam smith (mother & the addicts) and jamie greer (park attack), who, sick of using other peoples clinical digital studios and being told by engineers >you cant do that..<, decided to create a musician-friendly space where >actually you can...<.

dimitri kneppers (1967) music career reads like an encyclopedia. a house encyclopedia. after 23 years of spinning records you could call this dj a true veteran. known for his enormous sensitivity, true feeling and mixing skills he gives you the sense you are the voyeur of an intimate act between two lovers. the music and the man. but nobody ever felt and looked so comfortable behind the decks as dj dimitri, for he brings the crowd at ease like don juan would do with women. when ecstasy is no longer just a word, but a true magical moment as the crowd, the surroundings and the music all come together in one hypnotizing state of happiness. this man knows -or should we say feels- what he is doing, not only behind the decks but also when producing. in september 2007 dimitri said goodbye to his headphones to work on a farm with mentally handicapped people. fortunately for his fans the break wasnt premanent in the middle of last year he installed a studio in his home, then this past june he returned to the decks - now he makes his planet e debut with a stunning track already tearing up dancefloors. included is the first of two remixes by carl craig. a second ep with remixes by orlando voorn and carl craig will appear in early 2011

after four shared releases from the all stars, here comes the first individual output in our label, handcrafted by the scientist duo exium. mantra is an epic piece of techno, based on solid rhythm foundations, joyful synth work and rolling stabs. a complex workout that demonstrates the skill of this guys in the studio. futuristic techno with roots in the past. peter van hoesen takes the original parts of mantra and reconstructs it his very own dubby and fat vein, sure to please those fans of the berghain sound out there. closing the release, lifeform its the trademark exium sound, where sharpness and love to sonic details are the starring. resume: a solid release, away from monotone affairs, made for please the ears of those who love techno in its pureness.

the haunting is a production straight out of the highland beats studio. jan liefhebber goes back to his roots with this old-school techno acid track. the ep starts with three minutes of pure techno accompanied by a haunting undertone. a contagious tb303 bass line kicks in when you least expect it and brings the track to a pounding crescendo inspired by early horror films and the dark rave sounds of the 90s. ritzi lee is no stranger to the art of techno and has remixed the haunting with his favorite tool the tr909 leaving the original acidic skeleton intact. ritzis detroit-influenced techno mix completes the 12inch and makes it an essential piece of red transparent vinyl for all techno freaks. experiments have been carried out on unsuspecting crowds around the globe and the first results are extremely satisfactory. hb041 is supported by miss djax, aaron liberator, bart thissen, nimbuz and buzz goree (mixworks/underground resistance)

soil&pimp sessions are a jazz sextet from japan renowned for their flamboyant musicianship and style. their live show – dubbed death jazz – will melt your face. >pop korn< (taken from the bands sixth studio album) routinely incites riotous behaviour at gigs so was an obvious choice for the remix treatment.

a tasty 4 track appetizer for their album due out in jan 2011 on lovemonk. not really edits, but diced up loops and breaks reworked with synths, drums and deft studio magic. you might hear some bar kays or dc la rue on here. fans of italo or cosmic disco tracks should definitely dig it.
